Milwaukee�s new Columbia St. Mary�s Hospital is the largest construction project in the state. When the hospital�s architects and designers needed aluminum wall panels for the project, they opted to buy over 136,000 sq. ft. of Dri-Design wall panels in Champagne and Bone White. The .080 aluminum wall panels offer the hospital a pressure-equalized, dry joint rainscreen system. The rainscreen system was especially important for designers because it prevents moisture from entering the walls, which can help prevent mould growth. In a hospital environment, where many ill people are expected to be housed inside the new $417 nine-storey hospital, prevention of mould is a top priority.

Dri-Design wall panels were also chosen for the project because they helped the designers of the new building create a hospital which blended in with the architecture and the urban space of the surrounding Milwaukee area. The new hospital is designed by Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum (HOK). According to Architectural Products of Wausau, the company installing the Dri-Design wall panel system, the metal wall system may be the largest such project in the state. Architects at the company noted that the Dri-Design system was chosen over an ACM system because Dri-Design wall panels were able to save the project half the costs per panel installed.
